Credit for Prior Learning
In addition to traditional transfer credit, a student may receive credit for other types of prior learning, including the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) Advanced Placement (AP) Program, the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), the DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), departmental credit by examination, and/or military training and experience as recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE).
Credits earned through these specific programs may be used at Marietta College: 1) in satisfaction of general education requirements; 2) in satisfaction of major, minor, and/or specialization requirements as determined by of the department chairperson, and 3) in satisfaction of general elective credit as needed to obtain the minimum hours required for the degree.
Students with substantial prior credits will want to be mindful of the Graduation Residency Requirements.
