Academic Transcripts
A student’s transcript may be reviewed only by authorized personnel of the College with legitimate education interest, the student, and individuals specified by FERPA. Generally, the Records Office must have written permission to release information from the student’s transcript. See Confidentiality of Student Records for information regarding release of academic records to parents.
Requesting Transcripts
Transcripts are available from the Records Office upon the written and signed request of the student. Persons requesting transcript services must pay the appropriate fees as outlined on the Records Office website: http://www.marietta.edu/Academics/records.html.
Two types of transcripts are available.
- Unofficial transcripts do not bear the Registrar’s signature or the seal of the College and are free of charge. Unofficial transcripts are also available to current and recently-enrolled students (180 days after last term of attendance) via WebAdvisor on the MyMarietta portal.
- Official transcripts are sent directly to schools and other institutions of higher education, prospective employers, etc. as designated by the student. Official transcripts may also be sent directly to students in sealed envelopes. It is the student’s responsibility to confirm that the recipient will accept an “Issued to Student Transcript” as official. Processing fees apply and are due at the time of the request.
Official transcripts cannot be released for students/alumni who have outstanding debts to the College.
