Sources of Assistance
There are three principal types of aid that are potentially available to college students:
- Grant or scholarship, which the student does not have to repay;
- Loan, which the student usually must repay with interest, after leaving college; and
- Part-time employment, for which the student is paid and is expected to budget as part of the means of meeting educational expenses.
