MIS 430 Telecommunication & Convergence
This course builds on work done in
CSCI 365. It provides an in-depth study of telecommunications and makes students aware of not only the ongoing process of convergence of telecommunication and information technologies, but of implications for future services as well as societal changes. You will explore telecom applications in a number of areas to gain a greater understanding of how telecommunications and information technology are shaping business decisions today. Use of the Internet, TCP/IP networks, WANs, wireless networks satellites, and other technologies will also be explored. It is expected that students will gain an understanding of technology, products, services and systems and be able to determine the applicability of these technologies to business and industry.
