POLS 130 Introduction to World Politics
The study of world politics focuses on how global actors cultivate, maintain, and terminate relationships with one another and how the nature of such relationships contributes to consequences felt on a worldwide scale. This subfield of political science encompasses a broad set of topics that include transnational cooperation and conflict, globalized economic ties, and the role of law and norms in the international system. This course approaches the central questions of world politics by investigating how diverse interests, strategic interactions, and shared institutions shape relationships among countries, organizations, and individuals.
