MUSC 152 Studio Class for All Applied Lessons

The Studio Class is a zero-credit course required of all students in sequenced applied lessons. The course is focused on a dynamic view of essential elements of a performing artist, including how to present your music, how to engage an audience, artistry, and proper technique. The class creates an opportunity for students to connect with a master teacher in a classroom setting. Critical analysis and discussion of the musicality of the material performed in studio is a major component of the class. Through performance of repertoire rehearsed during their applied lessons, students will perform for their peers on a regular basis with teacher guidance, and will cover performance-related topics that stimulate creative approaches to music performance. The teacher will offer guidance and performance critique to support the students' development.
