PHYS 325 Mathematical Methods for Physics

An introduction to the mathematical methods needed for advanced study in Physics. Topics include: vector and tensor analysis, ordinary and partial differential equations, calculus of variations, and integral transforms. Applications may be drawn from Thermodynamics, Classical Mechanics, E&M, and Quantum Mechanics. Three hours of lecture and discussion per week.
