PSYC 402 Synthesis of Psychological Science

This course synthesizes key areas of psychology including developmental, social, cognitive, and biological psychology as well as neuroscience and psychopathology. Students will explore how these domains intersect to shape human behavior and mental processes across the lifespan. Special attention is given to human diversity by examining how culture, identity, and social contexts influence psychological theories and applications. Through the review of primary and secondary sources, students will critically evaluate psychological concepts and their real-world implications. Ethical and practical challenges of the discipline also are emphasized.

Open to rising seniors who have completed at least 9 hours of PSYC at the 300-400 level. Others by permission of instructor.
