PUB 310 Digital History
This class will focus on the online capabilities that have enabled historians to place their craft on the internet. Digital History helps historians to trace ancestry, build virtual historical sites, and create blogs and other social media that all enhance our ability to experience, read, and understand history. Therefore, this class will focus on the implementation of new tools, techniques, and methods to interpret the types of digital sources-instant messages, e-mails, doc files, pdfs, digital video, podcasts, and databases - now becoming available so that, as a discipline, historians are able to employ process-oriented work in an experiential way. This class, then, will be a hands-on, project-based course that introduces you to various digital tools to conduct historical research.
