MATH 301 Foundations of Mathematics
This course introduces students to the art of the mathematical proof. It provides an overview of basic ideas and techniques relating to abstract mathematics and prepares students who will take upper-level mathematics courses such as
MATH 346 Concepts of Geometry,
MATH 451 Advanced Calculus, and
MATH 453 Abstract Algebra. Topics include logic, set theory, mathematical induction, relations and orders, functions, and cardinality.
